http://castiyo.blogspot.com/

**********************************************************************

Hello everyone,

and I must add that it's unfortunately the last time I say hello from this blog. And that's because I must confess I've been two weeks in Spain. I returned from Dublin indeed, "for good" as the Irish say... and well, I must confess that I thought it would be sadder than it has actually been. But I came back home and left behind the island of the rain.

Finally, after a time of job-hunting and realizing that things are really bad, and that Ireland, together with Spain, Greece and Portugal are struggling to escape the relegation zone of economy, I decided to go home. If I don't find a job, it's at least better to be in your own country.

So it's been two weeks since I left Irish lands, a very cool and interesting stage of my life, and I returned home. The truth is that when I look back now it was quite sad, but in the days when I left the country (early April) it wasn't a bad move. Ireland is not going very well, there are not many jobs, and I also found some positions in Spain, so I came back home and moved to a better and bigger country with more opportunities, comparing Spain with Ireland.

So now it's time to concentrate on new things and enjoy Spain, the sun, the spring atmosphere, the joy of this country and the closeness of family and friends. It is a pleasure to return home, and although the situation to find work here is not good (I have heard we have 45% unemployment rate among young people) it's easier to manage the storm from home.

Besides that I have been offered some job offers, and I'm in the process of stydying them, and if they meet my expectations, even join any of the companies, but I do not want to rush, so I'm waiting for the right one and I hope it doesn't take long.

In conclusion, it's been the end of a very beautiful and rich period but now it's the beginning of another one, not less promising. As you can see I do not stop much to look back, it was great, but now it's time for new things, like a new blog: http://castiyo.blogspot.com/ where I will continue writing about my adventures as an engineer entering for the first time in the labor market. Without even knowing yet where or when.

And hence, this blog also ends, the experience ends, no more discovering new places... and so many other things end. Although there are also many things that continue, I left many things there that I can not lose, and we've promised to keep, and we will of course. It was a pleasure to live this year and a half abroad, but now it's over, as this blog.

I have to say thanks to those who have visited it from time to time and those who have contributed, I was delighted about it and that's why I will continue writing. Now writing about everything that will happen in my new stage, the great challenges shining on the horizon and the big rewards ahead waiting to be achieved.

It was a pleasure, Ireland, and a pleasure to write here for you all. A big hug to everyone and I hope you continue reading stuff about me on the new blog, at the moment been writen from Spain, but my idea is to change that in a short time.

http://castiyo.blogspot.com/

The end.

Antoniohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07139625772564284726noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7098496362835114600.post-47460576323574539682010-04-02T14:40:00.004+01:002010-04-03T20:58:57.428+01:00Vuelos y vuelos.

NINGUNA".

Antoniohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07139625772564284726noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7098496362835114600.post-37686608033853017152010-03-03T13:39:00.006+00:002010-03-04T10:51:20.030+00:00Luck is searched or found?Hello everyone,

I am writing this from my bed today... and it's not early in the morning nor late in the evening... instead it's a time when I would be supposed to be doing something else but after a very good Tuesday night this is what I am happy doing right now.

If you were guessing... yes, I am still a little bit dizzy from yesterday's party. And although Tuesday night is not an usual day to go out, yesterday was a great night. The thing is I got introduced to a sect... the Ryanair cabin crew members sect. Very lucky to have had the opportunity because it is a very restricted sect: they complain about everything in the comapny, go out strange days at strange times, behave strangely, drink a lot... very strange people indeed hehe.

I have to say I learned a lot from these guys about the inner workings of their company, multiple strange stories and things happening, and saw some priceless and hugely funny videos and pictures... oh my god, great. I got to know different people, many funny Ryanair things (I cannot stress this enough... oh my god... crazy stories these guys have), drink some beers, some dancing, joking... and finally we got a taxi and arrived safely home... I cannot ask for more... well maybe yes... I don't know what time was that... definitely after 5:30 but don´t know exactly.

Well, this was just to let you know that I do some more things appart from job hunting, and avoid speaking everytime about the same things. But getting back to my main topic of interest for this post... the opening question for me is not a real one, but will help me to start explaining some ideas about luck, good luck specifically.

I truly believe that luck has to be searched... it doesn´t magically come to you. Of course you need a little bit of that magical thing for your projects in life to be sucessful. But what I mean is that you have to work hard and try every possibility you have until the end. Never think there is no way to do something or that something is lost until the last second. Many time ourselves, by not trusting in our possibilities, frustrate our projects.

I have had many situations in my life where I thought I had gotten to a dead end, but after careful thinking, creativity, listening to other people's ideas and working on the problem, finally I chose solutions that worked, and even showed me a whole new way to go. Opening a lot of opportunities I didn't know about... and that happened when I thought I had no chance at all. From complete darkness, you can open a window that lets you see a whole new world of opportunities.

Of course you need to choose the right people to be with you. You are going to need them many times and if they are truly good, will help you with the best ideas and advices, if not, they will probably help you in going down, wasting your time and not making the most out of yourself. If you have truly good, creative and special people surrounding you, you will have much more possibilities in your life, networking they call it.

Instead of a blog, this looks more like a personal guidance help website with me as the spiritual leader hahahaha... I don't intend to do that but the ideas running around my mind these days are related with this, luck, good and bad, how to
suceed in life, and this kind of stuff.

I see myself as a lucky guy... I have had a wonderful life until now (and lets hope it keeps the same) and I consider I have everything I can ask for in life. But I also think I see it this way because I am very positive and optimistic. That way, when I have a problem, I am ready to confront it and give the most.

I can not complain at all, I think I started from a point in my life and have grown a lot since, improving each day an achieving small and big things day by day. I try to drive my life to acomplish the things I want, being ambicious and wanting to overcome problems and develop my knowledge and culture, learning every day from everywhere and everyone. I can be very happy I developed a way to do things in my life that works and normally gives me good results. I have learned this method during my life, tried it, and checked that it works and helps me reach and accomplish my objectives.

It is not an easy task, but it is very rewarding. Be sure to drive your life fast (not too fast) in a good way and choosing the best roads. End of the help post for today. I will go and do some things in the house and some useful things for humankind until the football game where Spain plays versus France starts.

Take care, be happy, positive and enjoy life. All the best from Dublin.

Antonio.Antoniohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07139625772564284726noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7098496362835114600.post-84751002165247408222010-02-21T13:47:00.002+00:002010-02-21T16:27:54.308+00:00Interview time.Hello friends!

how are you? Is there anybody reading this? maybe... who knows? At least I hope someone eventually reads this, and the most important, likes it. If thats not the case, well I like to write my thoughts from time to time, so I really enjoy writing here "although nobody is looking". But I am sure someone does!

So, now what? well, after being for a couple of weeks sending CVs, filling online applications, looking for information, asking for recommendation letters... and all kinds of related activities, finally on Wednesday I had an interview.

You know, when you are looking for a job, what you really want is the opportunity to show someone how good you are, how smart, how much you know, and how well you do everything, so this is the good part of looking for a job, having an interview.

For me it was a great interview, one hour and a half going through my CV in detail, asking me about the things I did, technical questions, also some general chatting, direct talking with people from the company... a very rewarding experience indeed.

Because I really feel well when someone wants to know about you and you are of interest for them. If they don't call you, if they don't pay attention to you, if they don't ask you lots of things... then you are not interesting for them, so you have to keep trying and thinking what's failing.

I have right now like 7 different CVs, I have been changing things here and there depending on the job offers I saw, trying to apply for different kinds of jobs, different programs... anything I could find. Internet is a very powerful tool!!!

By now I have found information regarding many different aspects of job searching and more and more I get a good idea on how it works, good companies, how to find positions, which programs are ofered for graduates and to continue studies... its important to consider every possiblity.

And well, after the interview, I ended up very happy, of course I had mistakes and things I could have done better, but it was my first interview in English and as a Telecommunications Engineer, so for me the mark could be about 8 over 10 hehe. I seriously think I did well, no matter if they finally hire me or not.

Because on one side I would like them to hire me, but in the other I think... what about if there are some other companies more interesting out there? Should I accept the first hiring offer I receive... I don't know. The company looks very good and I think I am going to enjoy working there, although I am sure it's a very demanding place to work, but... I like... love challenges, so that's for me.

De Interview time.

My interview look... not too bad I would say.

And in the meantime I will keep looking, keep searching, keep doing things and keep myself busy, making the most out of what I have right now. And of course not everything is work or jub hunting, some partying during the weekend is necessary, so this evening I will go bowling, then to a comedy club and maybe I also watch Real Madrid play at 10. Many things.

So, let's see what I find and what I am offered around... I am sure I will eventually find what I want, I am not in a hurry and I am enjoying the experience, that's the important thing.

Just wanted to let you know this: be positive, work hard and try to do your best no matter what the situation is, this way, sooner or later you will get what you deserve. That's what I do, and I didn't get very bad results until now.

I will write something else soon here, I am having lots of moments of reflection these days, deciding what I want to do, how I want to do things... about myself, the world... you know hehe... and it's being very constructive, so I am sure I will have something else to say here.

Take care, be happy, enjoy, and all the best from Dublin, this city which is so special.

Cheers!Antoniohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07139625772564284726noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7098496362835114600.post-87114297328793769042010-02-07T12:35:00.003+00:002010-02-07T16:00:16.835+00:00Job hunting.Hello everyone!!

how are you? I hope things are going ok for you and that you are not too busy right now. I know that many people are now studying hard for their exams, and also many are busy with their jobs... but don't worry, take it easy and try to enjoy and get the best out of your day, every day... positive thinking it's called.

Like me... I consider myself right now "happily unemployed" isn't it good? Well, it really isn't but... it's better if you look at it from the positive side, and while I work hard everyday to send CVs and apply for funding or anything I think can be interesting, I always keep a smile in my face, that makes it easier.

Because my friends... this is my main activity in these days, search for a job... I work more than 8 hours a day sending CVs, filling applications, searching for information... and that takes an awful looooooot of time. But it is also very interesting, to see where there are possibilities to work, where the big companies are, new and emerging businesses... quite cool.

By now I have applied to so many places I don't even can count them all: Panasonic, Samsung, Raytheon, Atos Origin, Deloitte, Ericsson, Nokia, Siemens... and many more. And by now, the only two kinds of responses I got were: "Thank you very much for your application, if we don't get back to you in less than 4 weeks it means your CV has not been selected" or the other one (my favorite at the moment) "Although you have an outstanding CV, we regret to tell you that you were finally not considered for the position".

That last one is hilarious... "...outstanding CV..." if the CV is outstanding... why the hell you don't hire me? But well... you know, these human resources guys don't have the slightest idea on how to find talent, I swear. But anyway, it is funny to think in the possibility that I could finally be selected by one of these companies to go to any of the places I have applied to... take notes.

I have applied to places like the U.K, Germany, France, Romania, Sweden, Canada, USA... and the best ones: Guatemala, South Korea, and the Caribbean... the Caribbean... I don't even mind if I have to work cleaning the office or preparing coffees, but no matter how bad the work was... it's the Caribbean. You see, two pictures appear in my mind: the green fields of the rainy Ireland, and the sunny beaches of the Caribbean... you know... Ireland is so nice but...

And also I have been doing some research on possible funding I could obtain to do a masters in business or technology, to complement my degree in telecommunications. There are a couple of possibilities and I think I could be accepted for a master, but it is going to be quite hard to get funding... anyway I am going to try just in case, who knows?

And if I got accepted... imagine, I would be studying subjects and involved in courses AGAIN... do I really want to do it after having finished my degree just a couple of months ago? I don't know, but if it's something related with business, I am really interested in it, so I think it would be very good for me. A new experience, that would be the main thing.

So those are the possibilities I am facing at the moment. I don't know what will be the final path I will choose, but I will let you know. Anyhow, it is very interesting to have so many possibilities, I can choose from many options, that look very exciting and that will take me to different places where my life can greatly change... isn't it exciting?

I am sure there will be great things to come, sooner or later, so stay tuned!!!!

All the best!

A ver a dónde me lleva.

This trip was a really good one. We had lots of laughs, a wonderful weekend and in summary, a great time all together.

We left on Saturday morning, and everyone came in time to my house, what is amazing, and then left for Galway. We arrived there before midday and walked around he city for several hours. It's an average Irish city, nothing major, but there was a very nice street market where we had an Indian soup for lunch. It was cloudy but it didn't rain more than several raindrops.

Galway, "Shops street".

After spending some hours in Galway and have lunch there, we took the car again and drove towards Letterfrack, the town where we were going to stay, near Connemara national park. We drove to this town not using the main road but the one that goes along the coast, through the town of Clifden, the main one in the penninsula.

We visited a castle in the way.

We also went through a town where we found a "Pony fair" with auctions going on.

This way we drove through very nice landscapes and also took the sky road, a route that goes along the coast, and has some spectacular views. You can see islands and the seaview is fantastic, as an example, look at the pictures we were able to take there at dusk.

De Aran islands and Connemara.

Nice landscape.

After a good while driving and taking pictures, we took the main road again towards Letterfrack, where we arrived at about 19h, and set everything up to have dinner. We enjoyed a good time in the hostel, with a very interesting chat titled: "interesting plots in Japanese porn movies", wasn't it Kai? hahahahahaha... Anyway, the hostel was very good, we had a lot of fun and we also went for a walk around the town, where we found very very scary things.

Like this guy!!! ;)

On the next day, after a good rest, we drove to visit a very beautiful place, Kylemore Abbey, spend some time there and then drove for an hour down to the seaport of Ros a' Mhíl, where we were going to take the ferry towards the Aran islands.

Kylemore Abbey.

Let's board that ferry!!

We had a very wet and bumpy ferry trip, with the ferry moving a lot from side to side and a rough sea, but that was part of the adventure! Nobody ended up sick and 45 minutes later, we where safe in the islands. There, we got to our "lovely", "Kilronan hostel" where all the fun happened thanks to the place's life and thanks to DJ ssssshhhhhhhhuuuuu Double D in "da" house, the italian guy Marcooooooo... more on that later hehe.

Korean noodles lunch at the hostel.

We had lunch in the hostel while we were trying to sort out some things. We had some trouble in the hostel because when we got there, the kind of room with ensuite bathroom that we were supposed to have wasn't available. So, after some talking with the guy, we got one without it, a 20€ discount and... beds with sheets that hadn't been changed!! A very good deal indeed!!! That's why we spent some time there speaking with this guy to explain him we wanted new sheets... but he was an easy learner hehe.

After solving that tiny thing, we rolled fast to visit the islands by bike. We spend some hours cycling up and down, (more uphill than downhill) and got to see some very nice landscapes around the island.

Cycling.

Rainbow.

We cycled for some hours and then went back to the hostel for a shower and to relax, have dinner and the usual things. Talking again about the hostel, I am sure this italian guy who run the place, Marco, was on drugs... this guy behaved so strange... so suspicious.. he even tried to open our door in the middle of the night to look for a place to sleep... hahahaha... That guy was soooo strange. He wasn't scary, but a mix between dumb and strange. But well, in the end we managed to have a good stay in the hostel, although it wasn't the best place I had been. But I have to say that the Aran Islands were very nice, we took many pictures and enjoyed our time biking around.

At dusk, we took very good pictures.

We also went to a pub in the island at night where we saw "The Mulkerrin brothers" perform. They are the winners of the "All Irelands Talents show", it is a program like X-factor or any of those...

De Aran islands and Connemara.

The guys are really good playing and singing typical Irish songs!

After the night out and some pints, we went back to the hotel to be ready for a second day cycling around. But this time we split up in two groups, leaving the guys go and Laura and me cycled nearer the hostel, because she was quite tired.

And actually we went to the best part we saw of the island, the Black Fort. The places you must not miss are this one, the worm hole and Dún Aonghasa (these two quite near from each other). Here you have a good map.

So we went there, and the last part was really "off road" with lots of rocks in the way, until we got to the end of the road. As we had walked from the end of the road to the cliffs, when we tried to go back to the bikes, we couldn't!!! So we got lost... and time was running out, the ferry was leaving at 12:00 and by 11:30 we were still runing around the fields trying to look for the road and the bikes... this was a bad time... the whole place looked like a maze, and there was no way to go...

What we did in the end was forget about the bikes and go to the houses, where, by coincidence, we found a car who was going to the dock, because the guy living in the house was going to take the ferry back to mainland, as we needed!!! At that time we saw the light, and 5 minutes before the time the ferry was going to leave, we got to the dock with them... ufffff... that was so near! We really thanked this family, because they saved us.

Of course we left the bikes in the middle of nowhere, and told the bike rental guy to pick them up in the place we left them, but that was the only thing we could do, as our friends were waiting for us in the dock with all our bags, and we were running so short on time... this time we were reeeeeally lucky!

Cheers!Antoniohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07139625772564284726noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7098496362835114600.post-67744112868377573732009-10-21T22:13:00.002+01:002009-10-21T22:30:40.597+01:00De nuevo online.

Antoniohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07139625772564284726noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7098496362835114600.post-38711058394726083372009-08-18T08:52:00.007+01:002009-08-18T15:21:16.616+01:00Back.Hello everyone,

just a quick post in these busy days to remind you that we are back again in Ireland. We left for 3 weeks to Spain, where we spent our time with our families, both in Madrid and in Málaga.

We had a great time, partying and also going to the swimming pool, the beach, eating a lot... you know, a typical holiday, we also enjoyed some time with our friends, enjoyed the sun... enjoyed so many things...

Madrid night-life at "Berlin Cabaret".

Going to the beach with all the necessary accessories.

Fuengirola beach... paradise.

And many many more things that I don't have pictures of, but you can imagine, being back home for a while is always a very good experience.

But we are back again, what is a little bit sad, but also has its happy part, because we got to see our friends here again after a long time and got back to our English-speaking life. And as we are also going to return several times to Spain in these months... it is not such a big deal to be here again.

So welcome back, and I hope you can read more from us soon, although my list of things to do for this September is crowded: do my degree's final exam, present my "Proyecto fin de carrera", go to one of my best friend's first wedding (wwooooooaaaawwwww!!!!) and, if everything goes well, celebrate the end of my Telecommunications degree all together there. Such a long list!!!

Hope you are all having a good time, I am really concentrated in my stuff at the moment and don't have much time to relax. But come back soon, because I hope to be able to write more for you to read.

In the mean time, enjoy.

Cheers!

Antoniohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07139625772564284726noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7098496362835114600.post-34958227051341227242009-07-08T16:52:00.006+01:002009-07-15T19:08:43.758+01:003D experience.Hi people,

how are you? Maybe enjoying the sunny days of your holidays, lucky you if that's the case. I imagine that's why you don't come so often around here. Well, let me tell you that's not an excuse for not coming to the blog from time to time, hehe.

We are pretty busy these days finishing everything around here, because our own holidays are nearer each day, so we want to leave everything ready before we leave. Even more when we have had friends here for several days, Ernesto and Silvia, who have been here at home with us, sweeeet!!! That way we spent these days before holidays with them around the city, and then we will leave to Spain. Because we also want our part of sunshine, beach and Spanish weather this summer, of course.

But of course we did many things around here with Ernesto and Silvia that I will tell you in the next post. We had a party on Saturday with the Italian guy, Daniel, and friends. It was a food party, so everyone cooked something and shared it. I love those parties, because I like so much trying different food hehe. I will tell you how was it next week, Ernesto and Silvia liked the idea a lot. Rest assured you will have pictures and everything from the party, I promise.

The other interesting thing we did these days was going to the cinema in Dublin. We don't go to the cinema too often here because it is expensive and these days (let's say for the last four years hehe) I don't find good movies I would like to watch. As an example, two weeks ago I went with Kai and Doug to watch Transformers (guys movie with explosions, a nice girl and those things... you know) and after the movie I was so screwed up. Everything in the movie was just horrible, no interesting story, no good transformers action, just explosions all around and shit... it was really a bad movie.

I never watch that kind of American movies, and will try not to go again in a long time, but I was so naive to think that maybe this one was different... how stupid I am every time I go to an American movie thinking that. I have to remember it: never again, never again...

Of course my problem with the cinema is that I don't choose the right ones, and prefer to watch the hugely advertised ones, that normally come from Hollywood and spend the most of the money in, of course, advertisement.

And I imagine that this time it wasn't different, Laura and me went to watch Ice Age III. I actually like a lot to go and watch movies in English, I got to a point where I understand the most of them, and it is more natural to see the movies in its original language. I never noticed that because obviously I always watched movies in Spanish, but I am starting to even prefer original versions.

The movie was OK, with a simple story but with very funny parts, where you laugh a lot with the famous squirrel from previous movies. We noticed that EVERY american movie these days has at least some lines of the storyboard in Spanish. They say at least a couple of sentences in our language and it was the same for this movie. It is very strange to listen to clear Spanish while watching a movie in an English cinema, but Hollywood knows Spanish are becoming more and more important in the world.

About the 3D experience, it is really natural and nice, you truly see the deepness of the image, as you see 3D in real life, and with effects that make things come near you, so it is truly surprising. A very good improvement for the cinema and something that may make me go and watch movies again, because it gives movies a important boost in reality, and that is what I expect when I spend 8€, in Spain it is slightly cheaper, but that's the price here, BIG.

3D is nice, it adds to the experience and I imagine it is going to be better used in the new movies, so I really look forward to see many more movies in 3D. It is amazing how good movies look and how 3D is done, although it doesn't look as a strange feeling or makes you feel dizzy, I would say it is really natural.

The goggles make you look soooooooo funny.

That's all at the moment, in the next post I will tell you about Ernesto and Silvia's visit which was really good and we really enjoyed it.

Cheers!Antoniohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07139625772564284726noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7098496362835114600.post-84358756557696405682009-06-26T15:05:00.002+01:002009-06-26T23:08:03.413+01:00A new family member. My family lost their north, they lost it, they really lost it...

Since I left home and came to Ireland, they are doing weird things. I imagine that I was a reference for them and once I went away.. things are loosing grip. They keep making random decisions... someone has to retake the situation, we have to stop it, and I want to publicly protest and make them choose the right way again.

The first thing they did, and I am completely against, was leaving the living room to stay and the kitchen to cook and eat, they now prefer to go downstairs, to the basement, to do those things... oh my god. It's like those people from the countryside who have everything in the first floor perfectly new, with a big TV, nice sofas, everything so nice and clean, air conditioning, every commodity... but they prefer to let them stay there untouched and unused. Instead they prefer to go downstairs, to the ground floor of the house and eat in a shitty table, sit down in shitty sofas and watch that tiny tiny TV where you can barely distinguish one player from another while watching a football game... talking about football, so bad Spain didn't make it to the final of the Confederations Cup, it would have been such a nice game to watch.

But let's not loose focus, let's concentrate in criticizing my family way of doing things since I left home he,he. The thing is that they prefer enjoying a painful daily life without all the commodities of the 21st century world: they prefer to cook in a mini kitchen with mini hobs and without washing machine, without proper cutlery, without proper fridge... Oh I am getting so nervous while writing this... OH MY GOOOOODDDDDDD!!! They are turning back to the 18th century.

So I have the completely clear idea that when I return home for holidays I will do my best to try to improve this situation. Because there is more to tell, this is not the whole story...

They even started growing their own FOOD!!!! Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha... that's the best thing: tomatoes, watermelons, pepers, onions... all of them are growing in what before was my nice garden. I still remember when my father said: "I'll never grow food at home, it is so ugly to have those plants, and you need to work so much to take care of them..." things change a lot.

But there is more, when I tell you they lost their north I am not kidding, it now comes the big thing, this one is big, big as I never imagined before... have a look at it:

Our new family member.

They are truly crazy... another dog, a tiny tiny lovely dog... oh my god, this was the most crazy thing they could do... but... she is soooo cute... because is a she, and it has the temporary name of "Mora".

You have to agree with me that they turned completely crazy, but in the other side, this craziness went to a lovely place hehe. I find this dog so cute, so nice, I really want to return home and play with her, I really like dogs indeed.

So it's been the first crazy decision of my family that, although I have to say again and again that is completely crazy, is also very sweet. I am really excited about the new mini doggy. It is a Schnauzer miniature and as we previously had a giant Schnauzer called Taya that died of an illness, it is really nice for me to have another one. Although she is small, I imagine that she has the same kind of lovely character that Schnauzers have, and that I remember from Taya.

A nice decision in the end, and I already have some names, taken from Irish, to propose. They are: Nora, Ciara (or Kira) and Tara. The first two are typical Anglicizations of Irish names and the third one is the name of a hill, The Hill of Tara, an important place in Ireland's history. So all of them have an interesting background and sound good, let's see which one we choose.

And that was all friends, I hope you liked my new family member, who I think is there to substitute me... incredible!!

Have a good time and enjoy. Cheers!

It's not the years in your life what counts, but the life in your years."

Antoniohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07139625772564284726noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7098496362835114600.post-46110166009897943552009-06-12T22:17:00.000+01:002009-06-12T22:49:18.010+01:00FLASHBACK IV: Glasgow.

Antoniohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07139625772564284726noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7098496362835114600.post-54364090884201372012009-05-28T22:56:00.005+01:002009-05-28T23:31:19.616+01:00Jajajajajajajajajajaja...Hello friends.

I am going to write just a quick post to say:

Jajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajaja
jajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajaja
jajajajajajajajajajajajajajajaja...

I looked at the weather for Dublin and I thought: "woaw, wonderful weather for the weekend..." but when I looked at the weather in Malaga... no words for that, it's priceless.

Antoniohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07139625772564284726noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7098496362835114600.post-92204834049380826692009-05-14T19:38:00.005+01:002009-05-18T17:36:46.099+01:00Visita telekil.

Ala, a leer.

Bea.

Antoniohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07139625772564284726noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7098496362835114600.post-80054056342040969262009-04-28T11:55:00.000+01:002009-05-11T11:38:46.020+01:00Sunny Monday.Just writing, in English language again, to tell you about a record I am accomplishing these months. I have had this idea in my mind for some time, and it is quite surprising...

It is the fact that I am going to set a record, I would say quite long, of time continuously wearing a coat. Yes, it is a strange fact, but coat has been with me every day I left my house since January, no exceptions! And that is going to be 4 months as I am writing now. Quite a long time... I am quite sure I have never wore a coat for so long in all the years I have lived in Spain. Simply, we don't have rain and cold for so long in Malaga, hehe.

And that´s even not taking into account the time I wore it before leaving to go to Spain on Christmas... if I did, the record could be much longer, although the warm time in Ireland are the months of April and May. After that, long rainy time will come with July and August, so the coat will come with me again every time, or at least that's what they say.

I must admit that Irish people don't wear it so much at all, they just wear clothes as if it was spring in Spain, but for the whole year and being here in Ireland. Girls wear skirts, open shoes, sandals, t-shirts... no coats, no jackets... nothing. And even if they wear it, they won't close it to the top, they prefer to leave it half opened. And I can tell you that when it is cold here I wear gloves, and everything I can to cover any single part of my body, so I could never do that.

Boys are not so tough, but you can also see them around wearing polo shirts even when I am wearing a coat, gloves and all the stuff I would carry to go skying... these are really tough guys, much more than the typical "Spanish macho".

A special mention has to be made of an american friend I have from New York who loves to wear sandals. He was wearing them for the whole rainy summer, then quit in winter, but I saw him again wearing them 24/7 from the past two weeks. And believe me, it was really cold to do that.

I would tell you the record is ending, but at the moment coat was with me all the time, because although we had a sunny day, rain could come at any time, or wind, or both, so I prefer to be warmer than normal wearing the coat with sun, than ending up "wetter than normal" once rain comes to visit us during the day.

But for the moment it makes a 4 months long coat wearing record, not bad. Although time is getting better, much better I would say these days, and you can see the sun more often than usual during these weeks and feel less cold. It looks like good weather is coming to Ireland, but on its own manner of course, given that, although you can have some sunny days, some not so sunny mornings, evenings, days or full weeks will be in the middle.

But anyway that's Ireland and changing weather can be good if looked from the right point of view. Although I imagine that's easier if you have lived all your life in a sunny country and don't expect to live here for a lifetime.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 86px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPPHbRbnkTkAwAvicUAloDvOAtm_j9QFy2P9lullQvxTXPWoN826B2gg9BrBddzGmCuRnxNJ0oMP88MgIG8xT7NARJi0oiSI0A4nSLq9TlAikW_mdpMARoF9Tfek2ZAo6TDvRvHnUYV-SV/s320/weather.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5334513530525693042" />
Our weather estimation for this week. It means we have to enjoy this sunny Monday.

I hope this post cheer you all up a little bit from this sunny Monday in Ireland.

Cheers!Antoniohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07139625772564284726noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7098496362835114600.post-90504438176526434972009-04-27T20:52:00.021+01:002009-05-05T22:08:30.057+01:00Good friends, a unique place, 935km and a diesel tank. This could very accurately be a summary of our last and fantastic trip to the middle of nowhere. We went to the very famous and touristic part of Ireland called the Ring of Kerry. It is a unique peninsula, in the west of Ireland, where you can find astounding landscapes and a really unique place, with a mix of sea, mountain, small towns, valleys, rivers and loneliness, a lot of it indeed. It is a special land, very inspiring and with a ton of places to explore, given the whole peninsula is a wonderful land full of gorgeous places.

I would say is one of those special places you have to see, and that leaves a mark in you. For me it is a place I will always remember as special, different, wonderfull and really, as I said before, unique. Not only for the place itself, but also for the people we went with and the fantastic time we had together.

We started early on Friday, at 7:30 in the morning, to start the driving early, and be in Killarney, 300km away, around midday. Roads here in Ireland are not too complicated if you have driven around big or medium cities, but we got lost for a moment, given we took the wrong exit from Dublin, but was only a minor mistake and we could maintain a good speed and keep the right route direction from that moment and on.

The car had a nice panoramic top.

About the roads... well up to 80kms away from Dublin and about the last 100km near Limerick we had a nice highway... but the rest... a two-way normal road, with good pavement, normally quite wide, with not too much traffic, but not as comfortable as highway driving. Anyway I would say that the roads here in Ireland are not so bad as people say, and they are improving them. You could see the works for a highway at many different points next to the road we drove through.

As we had a 4x4 car, we had to do something with it... what about jumping over the grass to park, instead of going around? That's a good idea.

Don't worry, the grass will grow again in a minute, with so much rain...

After the whole morning driving, with some stops to rest, and with a long final drive, where we were all starving and a little bit annoyed because of so much car, we got to Killarney. We arrived at Neptune's hostel which is in the city center and discovered the nice place.

Group picture, from top left to bottom right: Jose Luis, Luis, Daniel, Kai, Maria Jose, Laura and me.

On that day I discovered hostels, good ones, because I had never been in one of them before and it is actually very nice. You have a shared kitchen where you can cook and use dishes and everything. You clean everything after and you are done. That way you can save a lot in food, and as you can see in the next picture, it had everything you could need, clean and ready.

The hostel's kitchen.

After eating and resting we were ready to spend the evening walking around the town, getting to now the surroundings, which are part of Killarney National Park. A really beautifull place, with some lakes, mountains and nice landscapes.

Ross castle.

A view of the lake.

Torc waterfall.

Also while we were walking around, we got to a dead end... but that's no problem for us, intrepid travellers.

Jump!

We even found near the path, on top of a fence, The Ring of Kerry!! hehe, or also as many of you would like to call it, "my trrrreeeasure".

Ring of Kerry.

The last part of the evening, as we had walked for a long while (3 or 4 kilometers), was time for the car again. So we took it and drove around. We went for two hours around the lakes, through the black valley, a really beautiful landscape, and returned to killarney.

Our car in the black valley.

After the drive we got to Killarney again quite late, so we decided to go out and eat, that way we could visit any of the pubs around the city. We asked in the hostel reception for a good option and they told us where to go. Of course it was a good place, good price and with good food that we enjoyed all together.

Next morning we started the route around the ring of Kerry, from Killarney, driving over the north part, till the west end of the peninsula, and back again taking the road passing near the sea, on the south coast.

We spent several hours around, and visited towns like Killorgin and Cahersiveen from where we entered Valentia Island.

View from Valentia Island.

The day before we were lucky and had very good weather, with a nice sun and warm temperature, but Ireland cannot be so sunny, because if that happened it would be called Spain instead. So the next day wasn't so good, and we had lots of rain, cold, wind... as you can see in this picture.

Daniel's hair suffered the blow.

After going around Valentia island we headed south next to the coast, and reached the west end of the peninsula, where we found the most beautiful views.

Cows next to the sea, a picturesque view.

A wonderful beach between mountains and rocks, it must be a great place to swim in a sunny day.

During the route we stopped in many places to take pictures, it was amazingly beautiful, and a very enjoyable experience, but every time you exited the car, the cold was sooooo intense... your face ended up like this.

We planned to eat somewhere around, but had to eat inside the car for obvious reasons.

So we completed the ring at about 4 in the evening, and got to Killarney, from where we took the road back to Dublin. Some hours later we were all safely home.

We had a wonderful, amazing and incredible time with everyone. A really unique experience, mostly because of all the good people that traveled together and the fun we enjoyed. Thanks to you guys who joined us, specially Maria Jose, who left Ireland permanently today and Jose and Luis who came from Madrid to visit us for those two days.

Outstanding experience from which you have more pictures in the gallery.
